This was really helpful Dave–thank you–we needed this message.

  2. Chris and Crystal says:

Hi Paster Dave. Like always as Crystal and I walk out of the santuary I say “That was a good message..” And like most times, I would have a question or two but it’s always too busy right after service to ask. Maybe this is not the right venue for you to respond now but here goes anyway.

Crystal and I have a question:

If a person were to be with the Lord today, and being before the rapture, what body would we occupy in Heaven?

    • Dave Rolph says:

Hi Chris and Crystal. I personally believe that Christians who die are immediately transformed into their resurrection bodies. Some people disagree with that, due to the fact that the resurrection is sometimes seemingly referred to as a singular future event. Thus some good people speculate that we will receive a temporary body until the future resurrection. However, it is only speculation and I don’t adhere to the idea myself. Other views include the idea that we are dis-embodied spirits, which I reject because Paul seems to teach against the idea in 2 Corinthians 5:4, and the idea of “soul sleep” which I would reject based on 2 Corinthians 5:8. Another consideration to keep in the mix is the possibility that when we die we pass from time into eternity, thus rendering chronology meaningless.
